(b) FOREIGNM I L I TA R Y FA M ILY H O US ING L EASES. — Subsection (e)(2) of such section is amended by stri k ing ‘‘the Secretary of the N avy may lease not more than 2,800 units of family housing in I taly, and the Secretary of the Army may lease not more than 500 units of family housing in Italy’’ and inserting ‘‘the Secretaries of the military departments may lease not more than 3 ,300 units of family housing in Italy’’. (c) IN C REASE D T H RESHOLD F OR CONGRESSIONAL NOTIFICATION FOR FOREIGN MILITARY FAMILY HOUSING LEASES.—Subsection (f) of such section is amended by striking ‘‘$500,000’’ and inserting ‘‘$1,000,000’’. (d) R E P ORT RE Q UIRED.—Not later than March 1, 2008, the Secretary of D efense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the rental of family housing in foreign countries (including the costs of utilities, maintenance, and oper - ations) that exceed $60,000 per unit per year. The report shall include a list and description of rental units (including total gross s q uare feet and number of bedrooms), location, rental cost, the requirement for the rental, and the options that the Secretary has available to decrease the costs associated w ith the rentals. SEC.2807 . E XPAN S IO NO F A UTH O R IT Y TO EXCHAN G E RESER V E CO M PONENT FACI L ITIES. Section 182 4 0(a) of title 10, U nited States Code, is amended by striking ‘‘with a State’’ in the first sentence and inserting ‘‘with an E xecutive agency (as defined in section 105 of title 5), the United States P ostal Service, or a State’’. SEC. 2808. LIMITATION ON USE OF ALTERNATIVE AUTHORITY FOR AC Q UISITION AN D IMPROVEMENT OF MILITARY HOUSING FOR PRIVATI Z ATION OF TEMPORARY LODGING FACILITIES. (a) LIMITATION ON PRI V ATI Z ATION OF TEMPORARY LODGING FACILITIES.—Notwithstanding any other provision of subchapter I V of chapter 16 9 of title 10, United States Code, the privati z ation of temporary lodging facilities under such subchapter is limited to the military installations authorized in subsection (b) until 120 days after the date on which the report described in subsection (d)(1) is submitted. (b) AUTHORIZED INSTALLATIONS.—The military installations at which the privatization of temporary lodging facilities may proceed under subsection (a) are the following

(1) Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. (2) Fort Rucker, Alabama. (3) Y uma Proving G round, Arizona. (4) Fort McNair, District of Columbia. (5) Fort Shafter, Hawaii. (6) Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. ( 7 ) Fort Leavenworth, K ansas. (8) Fort Riley, Kansas. (9) Fort Polk, Louisiana. Ap p licab ili ty.
