(g) EXP ANDED R E V IE W OF FHA MORTGAGEE APPLI C ANTS AND NEWLY APPROVED MORTGAGEES.—Not later than the expiration of the 3 - month period beginning upon the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall— (1) expand the existing process for reviewing new applicants for approval for participation in the mortgage insur- ance programs of the Secretary for mortgages on 1- to 4 -family residences for the purpose of identifying applicants who rep- resent a high risk to the Mutual Mortgage I nsurance Fund; and (2) implement procedures that, for mortgagees approved during the 12-month period ending upon such date of enact- ment— (A) expand the number of mortgages originated by such mortgagees that are reviewed for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; and (B) include a process for random reviews of such mort- gagees and a process for reviews that is based on volume of mortgages originated by such mortgagees. SEC.204 .E NHA NCE M EN TOFLIQU I D IT Y AND STA B ILITY OF INSU R ED DE P OSITORY INSTITUTIONS TO ENSURE A V AILABILITY OF CREDIT AND REDUCTION OF FORECLOSURES. (a) TEMPORARY INCREASE IN DEPOSIT INSURANCE EXTENDED.— Section 13 6 of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2 0 0 8 (12 U.S.C. 5 241) is amended— (1) in subsection (a)— (A) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘December 31, 200 9 ’’ and inserting ‘‘December 31, 2013’’; Procedu re s.12USC 1 708n o t e.
