OCTOBER. 28 1865. 749 7 And whereas the said treaty having been submitted to the Senate of _Rntitlcat.io¤ the United States for its constitutional action thereon, the Senate did, on ;2;‘tf’·“‘°“d' the Hlth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, advise and consent to the ratification of the same, with an amendment, by a resolution in the words and figures following, to wit: — IN Exnonrrva Session, Saturn or urns Unrrnn STATES, March 5, 1866. Resolved, (two thirds of the Senators present concurring,) That the Senate advise and consent to the ratification of the treaty between the United States and headmen of the O’Gallala band of Dacotuh [Dakota] or Sioux Indians, made and concluded at Fort Sully, in the Territory of Dakota, with the following AMENDMENT: Article IV., lines 3, 4, and 5, strike out the following words, viz: " and S93 AHM, p- 748· of their non-interference with the persons and property of citizens of the United States travelling thereon."
