June 23, 1874. Whereas, it is alleged that on the thirtieth day of September, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, under and by virtue of an act of Congress approved March third, eighteen hundred and fit"ty-tive, 1and·warrant ,855 cb 20, M 1 numbered ninety-five thousand one hundred and sixteen, for one hun- 5,10,;,2 vo}, ’’ dred andtwenty acres of land, was issued to one James McAdory, and by him afterward duly sold and assigned to Joah Bagley, a citizen of Jefferson county, in the State of Alabama, who, on the twenty-first day of September eighteen hundred and sixty-two, located the said landwarrant in the purchase of the southwest quarter of the - southwest quarter and the south half of the northeast quarter of section six, township eighteen, range two west, in the Tuscaloosa land district, in the State of Alabama- which said location of said land-warrant is alleged to have been made in good faith, but under a law (or pretended law) of the State of Alabama authorizing the location of land-warrants in said State, and whereas, it is Vleged that said land-warrant has been lost or destroyed, and that the same has not been returned to or filed in the office of the Commissioner of the General Land Othee, but that notice of the loss thereof has been given to the said Commissioner of the General Land Office: Therefore, Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America. tn- Congress assembled, That upon the payment by 'roeonnrm titleto said J oah Bagley, of the minimum price to the proper officer of the Md <>fJ¤¤b 33:16:*- Government of the United States for said land, to wit, the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter and the south half of the northeast quarter of section six, township eighteen, range two west, in the Tuscaloosa land district, in the State of Alabama, as by law required, estimating the said land-warrant at its value, to wit, one dollar and twenty- live cents per acre, the balance to be paid in cash, the title of the said real estate be, and the same is hereby, confirmed in the said Joab Bagley, his heirs and a signs; and the Commissioner of the General Land Oilice is hereby authorized and required to issue letterspatent convey- ·ing the title to said lands to the said Joab Bagley. _ _ _ Sec. 2.
