Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represeutatires of the United States o_/'Anzerica. in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Inte- T- Murphy rior be, and he is, hereby, directed to place upon the pension roll the P°”S*°“- name of Thomas Murphy, of Knox County, Missouri, late a corporal of Company E, Twenty—iirst Regiment Missouri Volunteers, and that he be paid a pension from the date of this act. Approved, March 3, 1879. CHAP. 273.-An act for the relief of the personal representative of the late M. G. MM011 3, 1879. Harman, of Virginia. "*"‘_"‘l_ Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treas- N· G- U¤¤¤=¤¤’¤ ury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed, out of any money h°g_i*,_, Msmblas not otherwise appropriated, to pay to the personal representative of the` ' late M. G. Harman, of Virginia, the sum of three hundred and fifty- four dollars for the rent, by contract, of stables at Fredericksburg, Vir·- ginia, for the use of the Union Army. Approved, March 3, 1879. CHAP. 274.-—-An act to authorize the Secretary of War to place upon the rolls of MM`011 3, 1879- Company H, Ninth Regiment West Virginia Volunteer Infantry, the name of NVil- ‘j‘""*—‘ liam S. Massie. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, W. S. Massie. and he is hereby, authorized and required to cause the name of William P1? and °m°1¤· S. Massie to be placed on the rolls of Company H, Ninth Regiment of m°" S" West Virginia Volunteer Infantry, as of the date of August eighteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-one; and that he be entitled to receive all pay, bounties, commutations of rations and clothing, and other emoluments of said service, as were paid to, or received by, other privates of said company, from said eighteenth day of August to the twenty-fifth day of October, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, deducting therefrom anyand all sums of money, rations, or clothing he may have heretofore received on account of said service. Approved, March 3, 1879. CHAP. 275.-An act for the relief of Elias B. Bell, late private of Company E, Third M¤!'¢h 3, 18`79· Regiment West Virginia Cavalry. W Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, if- gg5M and he is hereby authorized and directed to correct the record of Elms ‘Y · B. Bell, late private of Company E. Third Regiment West Virginia Cavalry, so as to remove the charge of desertion now standing against his name, and issue to him an honorable discharge, dated of the musterout of his regiment, June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and sixty-ive, and that he be allowed and paid any arrears of pay and bounty found due him upon the settlement of his accounts by the accounting officers of the government. Approved, March 3, 1879. CHAP. 276.-An act for the relief of Jarvis Jackson, of Laurel County, Kentucky.
