Mi¤¤¤¤¤¤¤>¤¤- To enable the Secretary of the Interior to em loy ractical farm- P’°°“°**‘ *¤*’m°”- ers, in_add1tion to the agency farmers now employed: at wages not exceeding seventy-five dollars each per month, to superintend and direct farming among such Indians as are making effort for selfsupport, fifty thousand dollars; and no person shall be employed as suc farmer who has not been for at least five years previous to such emlployment practically engaged in the occupation of farming. ay of In 1an police: For the service of not exceeding seven I¤di¤·¤ P°¤<>¤· hundred privates, at eight dollars per month each, and not exceeding seventy officers, at ten dollars per month each, of Indian police, to be employed in maintaining order and prohibiting illegal trafiic . in liquor on the several Indian reservations, and within the Territory of Alaska, in the discretion of the Secretary of the Interior, and for the purchase of equipments and rations for policemen of non-ration agencies, ninety thousand dollars. Telegraphing and making purchases of Indian supplies: To pay m§¤g{:“¤¤· www the expenses of purchasing goods and supplies for the Indian serv- ’ ` ice, including rent of warehouses and pay of necessary employees; advertisin , at rates, not exceeding regu ar commercial rates; inspection and ah other expenses connected therewith, including telegraphing, forty thousand dollars. Transportation of Indian supplies: For this amount, for necessary mmmm of expenses of transportation of such goods, provisions, and other articles for the various tribes of Indians provided for by this act, including ay and expenses of transportation agents, three hundred thousand in ars.
