To enable the Architect of the Capitol to protect the paintings in B¤t¤¤d¤· the rotunda by suitable railing or wire netting, in his discretion, five hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary. PUBLIC PRINTING AND BINDING. b,§“m‘j,*;f1;P;;)';r°*f¥;g°° For the public printing, for the public binding and for aper for the public printing, including the cost of printing the debates and proceedings of Congress in the Congressional Record, and for lithographing, mapping, and engraving for both Houses of Congress, the upreme Court of the United States, the supreme court of the District of Columbia, the Court of Claims, the forary of Congress, the Executive Office, and the Departments, including salaries or com ensation of all necessary clerks and employees, for labor (by the day, piece, or contract), and for all the necessary materials which may be needed in the prosecution of the work, two million and sixty-seven thousand dollars; and from the said sum hereby appropriate printing and binding shall be done by the Public Printer to the amounts fo owing, respectively, namely: For printing and bindigg for Congress, includinga the proceedings `pgiotment or crm and de ates, eight hundr and two thousand dol rs. For the State Department, fifteen thousand dollars. For the Treasury Department, two hundred and eighty-nve thousand dollars, including not exceeding twenty thousan nine hundred and thirty-five dollars for the Coast and Geodetic Survey. For the War De artment, one hundred and fifty thousand dollars (of which sum twelve thousand dollars shall be for the catalogue of the library of the Surgeon-General’s Office) and not exceeding ten thousand dollars for carrying into effect the appropriations for the Si al Service; Ihr the Navy Department, sixty thousand dollars, including not exceeding twelve thousand dollars for the Hydrographic Office;
