Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives o th United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secréary ya;] ·¥· 001- of the Inter1or_be, and hereby 1s, authorized and directed to place °°' upon the pension·ro1l the name of Daniel J. Cox, late a rivate in Company _E, Sixteenth Illinois Infantry Volunteers, in the war of the_rebell1on, and pay him a pension subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws. - Received by the President June 13, 1890. [ N OTE BY THE DEPARTMENT or STATE.—ThG foregoing act havin been presented to the President of the United States for his approvag and not having been returned by him to the house of Congress in which it originated withm the time prescribed by the Constitution of the United States, has become a law without his approval.] CHAP. 637.-An act for the relief of George W; Madden. June 2s,1800. Re it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretar gg? W·Mnddc¤. of War is hereby directed to remove the charge of desertion stand; c;,..{g.,f" "°°"' ing on the records of his Department against George W Madden, late a private in Company I, hirtyl-thir Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry, and su stitute therefor "Absent without leave ; enlisted Aglril seventh, eighteen hundred and sixty-three, for four years, in the United States Marine Corps; discharged September third, eighteen hundred and sixtyfour, by order o Secretary of Navy, having been enlisted illega ly; enlisted again in same corps September fourth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four; honorab y discharged September fourth, eighteen hundre and sixty-eight ; re·enlisted November, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, an honorably discharged December thirteenth, eighteen hundred and seventy- two, at Mare Island, California," and the charge of desertion so removed and the substitution therefor of "absent without leave" shall be no bar to his claim for pension. Approved, June 28, 1890. CHAP. 642.-An act granting a pension to William J. Bryan. June $0,100. J. Bryan, late a member of Company A, Twenty- first Regiment Ohio Volunteers, upon the pension-roll of the United States, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws. Approved, June 30, 1890. CHAP. 643.-An act granting a. pension to Betsy E. Cole. ·7¤¤¢ 80, 1890- Be it enacted by the Senate and Hou»se of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary set¤y1=:.c¤1e. _ of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place P°““’°“‘ on the pension-roll, at the rate prescribed by existing provisions of law, the name of Betsy E. Cole, widow of James A. Cole, late private in Company E, First Michigan Volunteer Infantry. Approved, June 30, 1890.
