Brcunnson was elected Speaker pro tempore July eleventh, 1894; Mr. Cmsr resumed the duties of Speaker`July eighteenth, 1894. ‘ CHAP. 1.-An Act To amend an Act entitled "An A? to forfeit certain lands here- December 12.1893. tofore granted for the urpose of aiding in the construe non of railroads, and for other """"—* purposes," approved lSeptember twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and ninety, and the several Acts amendatory thereof. . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States 03/' America in Congress assembled, That section three of an Act F‘gt;f¤**¤¤ ¤·¤¤ entitl “An Act to forfeit certain lands heretofore granted for the pur- gm ' pose of aiding in the construction of railroads, and for other purposes," Riim vf ~&¤li¤r; ¤¤ approved September twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and ninety, and P°€°,;_°§§ {mi ° ` the several Acts amendatory thereof, be, and the same is, amended so Vo1.27,pp.59.42'l. as to extend the time within which persons entitled to purchase lands forfeited by said Act shall be permitted to purchase the same, in the quantities and upon the terms provided in said section, at any time prior to January first, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven: Provided, ff;’,f;’&c,_,m That nothing herein contained shall be so construed as to interfere ` with any adverse claim that may have attached to the lands or any r part thereof.
