To enable the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, under the direction of Emnm for civilithe Secretary of the Interior, to carry out an Act entitled “An Act for ”°{}§{f'25,P_m_ ' the relief and civilization of the Chippewa Indians in the State of Minnesota," approved January fourteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty- nine, namely, the purchase of material and employment of labor for the erection of houses for Indians; for the purchase of agricultural implements, stock, and seeds, breaking and fencing land; for payment of expenses of delegations of Chippewa Indians to visit the White Earth Reservation; for the erection and maintenance of day and industrial schools; for subsistence and for pay of employees; for pay of commissioners and their expenses; and for removal of Indians and for their allotments, to be reimbursed to the United States out of the proceeds of sale of their lands, seventy-five thousand dollars; For the erection and completion of suitable buildings for an industrial rnuumm mimi. boarding school on the White Earth Reservation, Minnesota, nfty ufY“‘“°‘"°°°l’ ""“°` thousand dollars, to be immediately available. For completing the necessary surveys within the Chippewa Indian S¤rv¤y•· Reservation in Minnesota, including expen ses of examining and appraising pine lands, under the provisions of the Act approved January fourteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, to be reimbursed to the United States out of proceeds of the sale of their lands, fifty thousand dollars: Provided, That all lands acquired and sold by the United f;ry,ri•t:_· M G States under the “Act for the relief and civilization of the Chippewa I ° ° g° °°` Indians in the State of Minnesota," approved January fourteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, shall be subject to the right of the United States to construct and maintain dams for the purpose of creating reservoirs in aid of navigation, and no claim or right of compensation shall U- S· not 1i¤b1•¤ f<·i accrue from the overflowing of said lands on account of the construction °"”°°"‘ and maintenance of such dams or reservoirs.
