Quinn on the thirteenth day of fuly, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, numbered eighty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-seven, upon the assistant treasurer of the United States at New Orleans, Louisiana, in favor of Henry L. Breneman, for the sum of fifteen thousand three hundred and forty-eight dollars and ninety cents, which check is alleged to have been lost in transmission through the United States mails by said James B.
