Taft, President of the United States $f,‘§f‘§,j",§{'§,'§¥‘°"· of America by virtue of the power in me vested by the Act of Congress alikigoved june fourth, eighteen hundred and nmety-seven, entitled ‘ Act Making apggropriations for sundry civil expenses of the Government for the ca year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-e` ht, and for other pur ses," do proclaim that the bounda.ries of theL%Vhite River N ationaiXF orest are hereby changed and that they are now as shown on the diagram forming a part hereof. This proclamation shall not prevent the settlement and entry of any $g{'g•}°l*}'*g,g°¤°S· lands heretofore opened to settlement and entry under the Act of ' ° _ Congress approved June eleventh, nineteen hundred and six, entitled "An Act, to provide for the entry of Agricultural lands within forest reserves. ’ ` The lands herebgf excluded from the White River National Forest pulgegdgggmd *° which are not em raced in withdrawals for administrative sites for use in the manaietment of the Forest, or in any other reservation or appropriation, s ll be restored to the public domain and become su ject to settlement under the general rovisions of the homestead laws on such date and after such notice by Hublication as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, but sha not become subject to entry, filing, selection, or other form of appropriation until the expiration of thirty days from the date so iixe , and no dperson will be permitted to gain or exercise any right whatever un er any settlement or occupation begun prior to such date, and all such settlement and occupation are herebg forbidden. It is not intended y this proclamation to release any land from A¤=·¤¤¤¤*¤·*- reservation except the areas indicated on the diagram as eliminated, nor to reserve sggy land not heretofore embraced in a National Forest.
