1=•RooLAMAT1oNs, 1910. 2719 BY rim Pansmmvr or was Uivrrnn Srarns or Armmca ’“'Y*»*°¤°· A PROCLAMATION WHEREAS an Executive Order dated Julysecond, nineteen hun- °°*°¤j`¤¤ N¤**>¤=¤ dred and eight, directed that the Santa Rita, Santa Catalina, and F?°Qii¤siif Dragoon National Forests be consolidated under the name of the Coronado National Forest; and · as WHEREAS it appears that the public good will be promoted by adding to the Coronado National IForest certain lands within the Territory of Arizona which are in part covered with timber, b eliminatiplg therefrom certain lands, and by transferring to the (lrhirica— hua ational Forest a portion of the area included in the Coronado National Forest by the said Executive Order; Now, therefore, I, William H. Taft, President of the United States $g}* m¤d*¤•>¤· of America, by virtue of the power in me vested by the Act of Con- ° ’p` ` gl`6SS gpproved June fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, entitle "An Act Making appropriations for sundry civil expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eiggrt, and for other;1lpurposes," do proclaim that the boundaries of the oronado Nation Forest are hereby changed and that the are now as shown on the diagram forming a part hereof. This roclamation shall not prevent the settlement and entry of $§{f°§*§“2§B'{"‘“*"· any landls heretofore opened to settlement and entry under the Act of Congress a proved June eleventh, nineteen hundred and six, entitled "An Actxllb provide for the entry of Agricultural lands within forest reserves. ’ The lands hereby eliminated from the Coronado National Forest p,,l{§Q",§°,,,’,‘Q,’,§'f'°‘* "’ which are not embraced in withdrawals for administrative sites for use in the management of the Forest, or in any other reservation or agpropriation, shall be restored to the public domain and become su - ject to settlement under the general provisions of the homestead laws on such date and after such notice lg publication as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, but sh l not become subject to entry, filing, selection, or other form of appropriation until the expiration of thirt days from the date so fixe , except that on the same date as the llands eliminated become subject to settlement, the Territory ,m{¤,;¤s·;¤{£{g*ns¤¤¤¤¤i of Arizona may, if the lands eliminated are subject to suchselection, ' select as indemnity in the satisfaction of its common school grant, not to exceed two sections of land in each entire townshilp restored, or one section in each fractional portion of a township w ere the restored area thereof exceeds five thousand (5,000) acres, and no (person will be permitted to acquire or exercise any right whatever un er any settlement or occupancy begun plrior to such date, and all such settlement or occu ation is hereb for idden.
