D°°°mb‘*’ “*· *910- BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES or AMERrcA A PROCLAMATION F§r';§f*§‘*’& N°“°““* WHEREAS an Executive Order dated June twenty·Sixth, nineteen Pmahblag. hundred and eight, directed that the Bear Lodge N ational Forest and that ortion of the Black Hills National Forest lying within the State of Wyoming should constitute the Sundance National Forest; and WHEREAS it appears that the public good will be gromoted by eliminating from the Sundance National Forest certain ands within the State of Wyoming; _ _ Arcadiminishcd- Now, therefore, I, William H. Taft, President of the United States V°l‘ 3°’p` m of America, by virtue of the power in me vested by the Act of Congress approved June fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, entitled ‘ Aiii Act Making appropriations for sundry civil expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety~eight, and for other pur oses, " do proclaim that the boundaries of the Sundance National Elbrest are hereby changed and that the are now as shown on the diagram formin a part hereof. ggfcgmlmmk 'liliis proclamation shall not prevent the setéement and entry of any ' 'p' lands heretofore opened to sett ement and entry under the Act of Coness approved June eleventh, nineteen hundred and six, entitled "An irct To provide for the entry of Agricultural lands within forest reserves. ’ umgomgwm *0 The lands hereby eliminated from the Sundance National Forest D which are not embraced in withdrawals for administrative Sites for use in the management of the Forest, or in any other reservation or appropriation, shall be restored to the public domain and become subject to settlement under the general provisions of the homestead laws on such date and after such notice by publication as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, but Shall not become Subject to entry, filing, selection, or other form of appropriation until the expiration of thirty days from the date so fixed, and no(pe1son will be permitted to acquire or exercise any right whatever un er any settlement or occupancy begun prior to such date, and all such sett ement or occupation IS hereby forbidden. Am ¤¤'¤¤*¤¤- It is not intended by this proclamation to release any land from reservation except the areas indicated on the diagram as eliminated, nor to reserve an land not heretofore embraced in a National Forest.
