That the Secrgtary gwiiriiégoniniiseii. of the Treasury and the Comptroller General be, and they are hereby, authorized an directed to credit in the accounts of the Treasurer of the United States the sum of $15,956, now carried in the aecount of the office of the Assistant Treasurer of the United States at Boston, Massachusetts, and representing a bdance due the United States when the subtreasury at Boston was discontinued, October 25, 1920, in the amount of money belonging to the United States while in the custody of said Assistant Treasurer, the loss of said money having occurred through no fault or negligence on the bpart of said Assistant Treasurer, as set forth in Senate Document umbered 400, Sixty- A,,,,,.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,_ sixth Congress, third session; and for this pur ose the sum of $15,956 is hereby appropriated, out of any money m the Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the v:,im;:;N°°7`} United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary numbuminlram. of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to William H. Lee, lieutenant commander, United States Navy, out of any funds in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $828.29, said sum being the amount of restitution made by him out of his private funds for money stolen from his safe by a man serving under him, for which said officer was held re?onsible, while stationed as recruitin officer for the United States avy, in the city of San Francisco, California, on December 30, 1920. Be it enacted b the Senate and House of Re nesentatives of the United States of gmerica in Congress assembled; That the claim of c<$ii$iiiy.F°mm°'°i°l the Alaska Commercial Company, a corporation created by and c0£’}§}§n°'},’,§§,,§[,‘§§ T; existing under the laws of the State of California, legal owner of "*‘°*'·¥¤d'¤°**¤¤¤¤¤¤¤· wharf at Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and which wharf was amaged and partially destro ed on or about November 5, 1920, through collision with the Unitedy States steamship Saturn, United States avy, may be sued for bv said Alaska Commercial Company in the District Court of the United States for the Northern District of California, sitting as a court of admiralty and acting under the rules governing ,ur,Sd,ct,0n such court, and said court shall have jurisdiction to hear and deter- ` mine such suit and to enter a judgment or decree for the amount of such damages and costs, if any, as shall be found to be due against the United States in favor of the said Alaska Commercial Com any, or against the Alaska Commercial Company in favor of the Uiiiited States, upon the same principles and measures of liability as in like cases in admiralty between private parties and with the same rights ,,,w,m_ ot appeal: Provided, That such notice of the suit shall be given to Ncticeerc. the Attorney General of the United States as may be pI‘0V1d6d by order of the said court, and it shall be the duty of the Attorney General to cause the United States attorney in such district to a pear Commmmmm 0, and defend for the United States: Provided further, That said suit suitshall be brought and commenced within four months of the date of the passage of this Act.
