CHAP. 59 .-An Act Authorizing the Secretary of War to convey certain [H .R . 13033 .] portions of the military reservation at Monterey, California, to the city of Monte- rey, California, for the extension of Alvarado Street . Be it enacted by the Senate and House o f Representatives of the Monterey, Calif . Right of way granted, United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary across the military res- of War be, and he is hereby, authorized to convey to the city of ervation, etc . Monterey, California, by suitable instrument, an easement for a right of way ov er that portio n of the mili tary reservat ion at Montere y, Calif ornia, partic ularly describ ed as follows , to wi t Beginning at a point on the south line of the United States Mili- tary Reservation, Monterey, Monterey County, 'California, which bears north eighty degrees east, seventy-five and sixteen one-hun- dredt hs feet dista nt from the po int of inters ection of sai d line of said reservation with the east line of Lighthouse Road (sometimes called Lighthouse Avenue), and running thence north eighty degrees east sixty-two and thirteen one-hundredths feet to a point which is twenty-five feet distant westerly from the center line of the Southern Pacific Railroad track ; thence northerly on a curve of six hundred and thirty feet radius, curving to the right (long chord, north five degre es sev enteen and one-ha lf min utes w est t hree h undred and forty-six and seventy-seven one-hundredths feet) three hundred and fifty-one and three-tenths feet to a point on the east line of said Lighthouse R oad and twent y feet distan t west from th e center line of said Southern Pacific Railroad track, thence south eighteen degrees thirty-five and one half minutes west, along the east line of Light- house Road, two hundred and eighty-three feet ; thence south nine- teen degrees forty-one minutes east one hundred and thirty-eight and six-tenths feet to the point of beginning, subject to such conditions, restrictions , and reserva tions as the Secretary of W ar may impose for the protection of the reservation and subject to a perpetual right of way over said land for the uses of any department of the Govern- ment of the United States . CHAP . 61 .-An Act To legalize the existing railroad bridge across the Ohio River at Steubenville, Ohio . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives o f the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the consent of Congress is hereby grante d to The Pitt sburgh, Cincin nati, Chicago and St . Louis Railroad Company, a corporation duly organized under the gene ral laws of the Stat es o f Pe nnsy lvan ia, West Vir gini a, O hio, Indiana, and Illinois, its successors and assigns, to maintain and operate its existing railroad bridge and approaches thereto over the Ohio River at Steubenville, Ohio, in accordance with the provisions of an Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters," approved March 23, 1906, other than those requiring the approval of p lans by the C hief of Engine ers and the Secretary of War before t he bridge is commenced . SE C. 2 . The right to sell, assign, transfer, and mortgage -all the rights, powers, and privileges conferred by this Act is hereby granted to The Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St . Louis Railroad Com- pany, its successors and assigns, and any corporation to which, or any person to whom, such rights, powers, and privileges may be sold, assigned, or transferred, or, who shall acquire the same by mortgage fore clos ure, or othe rwis e, i s he reby aut hori zed to e xerc ise the same as fully as though conferred herein directly upon such corporation or person . SE C. 3. The right to a lter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereb y expressly reserved . Approved, January 14, 1929 .
