MILITARY POST EXCHANGES For the equipment and conduct of the post exchange, school, reading, lunch, and amu sement rooms, service club s, chapels, gy m- nasiums, and libraries, including periodicals and other publications and subscriptions for newspapers for which payment may be made in advance, and including salaries and travel for civilians employed in the hostess and library services, and for transportation of books and equipment for these services ; for the rental of films, purchase of slides fo r and making r epairs to mov ing-picture o utfits, and for similar and other recreational purposes at training and mobilization camps now established or which may be hereafter established, $72,000. JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERALS DEPARTMENT OFFICE OP THE JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL Settlement of War Claims, Act of 1928 : For every expenditure requisite for and incident to the work of the War Department in connectio n with the set tlement of wa r claims as a uthorized by t he Act entitled, "An Act to provide for the settlement of certain claims of American nationals against Germany, Austria, and Hungary, and of nation als of Germany , Austria, an d Hungary, ag ainst the Unit ed States and for the ultimate return of all property held by the Alien Property Custodian," approved March 10, 1928, including the author- ized traveling expenses of commissioned officers and other employees, rent in the District of Columbia and in foreign countries, the employ- ment of personal services in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, without regard to the civil service laws and regulations or to the Classification Act of 1923, as amended, printing, binding, pho to- graphing, stationery, office supplies and equipment, and such other expenses as may be necessary and proper for carrying out the pro- visions of the Act herein referred to, $100,000, together with the unexpende d balance of t he appropriat ion of $160,0 00 made for th is purpose i n the Second D eficiency Act , fiscal year 1928, ap proved May 29, 1928 .
