Flescher, Carmen Flescher, their heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge across the Wabash River at or n ear McGregors Ferry i n White County, Illinois," approved May 1, 1928 . Flescher, Carmen Flescher, their heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge across the Wabash Ri ver at or near McGregors Ferry in White County, Illinois," approved May 1, 1928, is amended by striking out the words " at or near McGregors Ferry in White County, Illin ois, a nd a p oint i n Pose y Count y, Ind iana," and i nsert- ing in lieu thereof " at or near New Harmony in Posey County, In diana, and a point in Wh ite Co unty, Illinoi s . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secre- tary of the Interior is authorized, in his judgment and discretion, to employ for consultation purposes on important reclamation work fi ve con sultin g engi neers, geolo gists, and ec onomis ts, at rates of compensation to be fixed by him, but not to exceed $50 per day for any engineer, geologist, or economist so employed : Provi ded, That the total compensation paid to any engineer, geologist, or economist during any fiscal year shall not exceed $5,000 : Provided further, That not with stan ding th e pr ovis ions of any oth er A ct, retired officers of the Army or Navy may be employed by the Secretary of the Interior as consulting engineers in accordance with the provisions of this Act . SEC . 2 . The joint resolution approved June 28, 1926, authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to employ engineers for consultation in conn ection with the co nstruc tion o f dams for ir rigati on pur poses, is here by rep ealed .
