CHAP . 190 .-An Act Grant ing the co nsen t of Congress to the highway [Public, No . 145.] department of the State of Tennessee to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge across the Cumberland River on the Lafayette-Celina Road in Clay County, Tennessee . Be it enacted by the Senate and House o f Representatives o f the Cumberlan d River. United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the consent Tennessee may bri dg e, i n Cla y of Congress is hereby granted to the highway department of the Coun ty . State of Tennessee to c onstruct, mai ntain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across the Cumberland River, aA a point suitable to the interests of navigation, on the Lafayette-Celina Road in Clay C ounty, in the State of Tenn essee, in acc ordance with t he Constructio n . 3i`P.'84. provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters," approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act . t oll pro vide for Rates of oper ati on, ti to sin k- -
SEC . 2 . If tolls are charged for the use of such bridge, the rates ing fund, etc . of toll shall be so adjusted as to provide a fund sufficient to pay the reasonable cost of maintaining, repairing, and operating the bridge and its approaches under economical management, and to provide a sinking fund sufficient to amortize the cost of the bridge and its approache s, including r easonable int erest and financing cost, as soon as p ossible under reasonable ch arges, but wi thin a period of Maintenance as free not to exceed twenty-five years from the completion thereof . After bridge, etc ., on amor- tizing costs . a sinking fund sufficient for such amortization shall have been so provided, su ch bridge sha ll thereafter be maintained and operated free of tolls, or the rates of toll shall thereafter be so adjusted as to provide a fund of not to exceed the amount necessary for the Record of expendi- proper maintenance, repair, and operation of the bridge and its tures and receipts . approaches under economical management . An accurate record of the costs of the bridge and its approaches, the expenditures for maintaining, repairing, and operating the same, and of the daily tolls collected, shall be kept and shall be available for the information of all persons interested . Mississippi River at or near Quincy, Illinois, authorized to be built by the city of Quincy by Act of Congress approved February 1, amended . llVol . , p. 105 5 , 1927, be, and the same are hereby, extended one and three years respectively from the date of approval hereof. Am endment .
