For postage stamps : Postmaster, $250 ; clerk, $450 ; sergeant at arms, $300 ; doorkeeper, $150 ; in all, $1,150 . For driving, maintenance, repair, and operation of an automobile for the Speaker, $4,000 . For folding speeches and pamphlets, at a rate not exceeding $1 per thousand, $8,000. For assistance r endered durin g the calendar years 1930 a nd 1931 in compiling list of reports to be made to Congress by public officials ; compiling copy and revising proofs for the House portion of the Offici al Regi ster ; pr epar ing and inde xing the sta tist ical rep orts of the Clerk of the House ; compiling the telephone and Members' directories ; preparing and indexing the daily Calendars of Business ; preparing the official statement of Members' voting records ; prepar- ing list of congressional _nominees, and statistical summary of elections ; preparing and indexing questions of order printed in the appendix-to the Journal pursuant to House Rule III ; and for record- ing and filing statements of political committees and candidates for election to the House of Representatives pursuant to the Federal Corrupt Practices Act, 1925 (U . S . C ., title 2, sec . 241-256), $5,0 0 . CAPITOL POLICE Salaries : Captain, $2,460 ; three lieutenants at $1,740 each ; two special officers at $1,740 each ; three sergeants at $1,680 each ; forty- four privates at $1,620 each ; one-half of said privates to be selected by the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate and one-half by the Sergeant at Arms of the House ; in all, $87,480 . For contingent expenses, $200. For purchasing and supplying uniforms and motor cycles to Capitol police, $6,750, to be immediately available . One-half of the foregoing amounts under " Capitol police " shall be disbursed by the Secretary of the Senate and one-half by the Clerk of the House . ments-Joint JOINT COMMITTEE ON PRINTING Salaries : Clerk, $4,000 and $800 additional so long as the position is held by the present incumbent ; inspector under section 20 of the Act approved January 12, 1895 (U . S . C ., title 44, sec . 49), $2,820 ; assistant clerk and stenographer, $2,400 ; for expenses of compiling, preparing, and indexing the Congressional Directory, $1,600 ; in all, $11,620, one half to be disbursed by the Secretary of the Senate and the other half to be disbursed by the Clerk of the House . JOINT COMMITTEE ON THE LIBRARY To enable the Joint Committee on the Library to procure for the court room of the Supreme Court of the United States a marble bust, with bracket or pedestal, of the late Chief Justice William Howard Taft, $3,000 .
