May 11, 1g2O_ Be it enacted, &c., That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any moneys in the trea- Payment to sury not otherwise appropriated, to Angus O. Fraser and others, who, officers of rave at the time of the seizure of the British vessel Ardent, in or near the 99** °“"°' L°¤· river Mississippi, in the year one thousand eight hundred and eleven, by ;8Q€,’;:’0‘}r;,Q;Q,, the United States’ revenue cutter Louisiana, were officers of the said ofBri1ish vessel cutter, or to their legal representatives, the sum of five thousand two A¤i°¤l» GW- hundred and thirty-nine dollars and sixty-two cents, in such proportions as, by law, they are severally entitled to; being one half of the amount paid into the treasury, as the United States’ moiety of the net proceeds of the said vessel and cargo, condemned in the district court of the United States for the district of New Orleans; and to which half the said officers were entitled under the provisions of the "Act to prohibit Act <>fA1,>1ril the importation of certain goods, wares, or merchandise," passed on the 18*1806*** *29* eighteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and six, to be distributed among the said officers, or their legal representatives, as provided by the said act. Beall on the tirst of February, one thou- 0,,,;;;,,,,,,,,,, sand seven hundred and eighty-five, for his services as a lieutenant in which were the army of the United States, during the revolutionary war, and num- l°’“· &’°· bered eighty-nine thousand four hundred and fifty-six, and eighty-nine thousand four hundred and fifty-seven, together with interest on the said certificates, at the rate of six per centum per annum, from the times they bore interest, respectively; which said certificates were lost by the said Samuel B. Beall, and remain yet outstanding and unpaid: Provided, That, before payment is made a aforesaid, the said Samuel Proviso. B. Beall shall give bond to the United States, to be approved of by the Secretary of the Treasury, to refund the money, should the said certificates hereafter be presented for payment. Sec. 2.
