Joint Committee on P r i n t i n g: For salaries for the Joint Committee on Printing at rates to be fixed by the committee, $35,633; for expenses of compiling, preparing, and indexing the Congressional Directory, $1,600; for compiling, preparing, and indexing material for the biographical directory, $1,600, said sum, or any part thereof, in the discretion of the chairman or vice chairman of the Joint Committee on Printing, may be paid as additional compensation to any employee of the United States; and for travel and subsistence expenses at rates provided by law for Senate committees, $4,500; in all, $43,333.
