Claims for compensation under subsection (d) of section 6 of the War Claims Act of 1948, as amended, must be filed with the War Claims Commission within one year after the date of the enactment of this Act. SEC. 4. Nothing in this Act, or in the amendments made by this Act to the W a r Claims Act of 1948, as amended, shall operate to extend the life of the W a r Claims Commission for any period of time. AN ACT To amend the War Claims Act of 1948, as amended, with respect to payments for the benefit of persons under legal disability.

Be if enacted by the Senate and Hov.^e of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That subsection (e) of section 5 of the War Claims Act of 1948, as amended (50 U.S.C. 2004 (e)), is amended to read as follows: "(e) Any claim allowed by the Commission under this section shall be certified to the Secretary of the Treasury for payment out of the war claims funds established by section 18 of this Act, and shall be payable by the Secretary of the Treasury to the person entitled thereto; except that where the person entitled to payment is under any legal disability, any part of the amount payable may, in the discretion of the Commission, be paid, for the use of the claimant, to the natural or legal guardian, committee, conservator, or curator of the claimant, or, if there is no such guardian, committee, conservator, or curator, then the Commission may, in its discretion, make payment to any other person, including the spouse of such claimant, whom the Commission may determine is vested with the care of the claimant or his estate for the use and benefit of such claimant or estate; and if such person is a minor, any part of the amount payable may, in the discretion of the Commission, be paid to such minor." SEC. 2. Subsection (c) of section 6 of the W a r Claims Act of 1948, as amended (50 U.S.C. 2005 (c)), is amended by striking out "or to his legal or natural guardian if he has one,"; and such section 6 is further amended by inserting after subsection (c) thereof the following new subsection: " (d) Where any person entitled to payment under this section is under any legal disability, payment may be made in accordance with the provisions of subsection (e) of section 5." AN ACT To further amend section 5136 of the Revised Statutes, as amended, with respect to underwriting and dealing in securities issued by the Central Bank for Cooperatives.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress a.ssembled^ That the last sentence of paragraph seventh of section 5136 of the Revised Statutes, as amended (12 V. S. C. 24), is hereby amended by inserting "or the
