AN ACT To amend the District of Columbia Teachers' Leave Act of 1&49.

Be it enacted by the Senate aTid House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 6 of the District of Columbia Teachers' Leave Act of 1949, approved October 13, 1949 (63 Stat. 842), as amended, is amended by inserting after the word "pay" the words "or on leave without pay". SEC. 2. This Act shall become effective as of July 1, 1949. Approved August 5, 1953. Public Law 187

joint resolution, and that the actual and necessary customs charges for labor, services, and other expenses in connection with the entry, examination, appraisement, release, or custody, together with the necessary charges for salaries of customs officers and employees in connection with the supervision, custody of, and accounting for, articles imported under the provisions of this joint resolution, shall be reimbursed by the International Trade Fair, Incorporated, a corporation, to the Government of the United States under regulations to be prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury, and that receipts from such reimbursements shall be deposited as refunds to the appropriation from which paid, in the manner provided for in section 524, Tariff Act of 1930, as amended (U.S.C. 1946 edition, title 19, sec. 1524). CHAPTER 320

AN ACT To amend the Act entitled "An Act to provide that the Board of Education of the District of Columbia shall have sole authority to regulate the vacation periods and annual leave of absence of certain school officers and employees of the Board of Education of the District of Columbia", approved March 5, 1932.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the D. C. Board of United States of America in Congress assembled. That the Act entitled Education. "An Act to provide that the Board of Education of the District of Columbia shall have sole authority to regulate the vacation periods and annual leave of absence of certain school officers and employees of the Board of Education of the District of Columbia", approved D. C. Code 31- March 5, 1952 (66 Stat. 14), is amended by adding thereto the fol698. lowing new section: Annual l e a v e. "SEC. 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law to the contrary, no individual whose position is within the purview of this Act shall, by virtue of the enactment of the first section of this Act, be entitled to lump-sum payment or payments for annual leave accrued or current as of March 5, 1952, but all such individual's annual leave, accrued or current as of March 5, 1952, shall be credited to him for his use and benefit, and to be used in accordance with rules promulgated by the Board of Education."
