Private Law 85-665 AN ACT For the relief of Everett A. Ross.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress oMsembled^ That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Everett A. Ross, Stockton, California, the sum of $712.61. Such sum represents the amount of the judgment and costs for which the said Everett A. Ross was held liable on February 4, 1952, in a civil action in the justice court of Stockton, C^alifornia, as the result of an accident which occurred at the intersection of Charter Way and Sharps Lane in Stockton, California, on November 8, 1950, and which involved a Ignited States mail truck being driven by the said Everett A. Ross, a temporary letter carrier in the United States Post Office, Stockton, California. Such sum shall be paid only on condition that the said Everett A. Ross shall use such sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to pay such judgment and costs in full: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 23, 1958.

Private Law 85-666 AN ACT For the relief of Paul Thury.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Paul Thury, of Parkston, South Dakota, the sum of $200. The payment of such sum shall be in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for compensation for losses sustained by him on his corn crop for 1955, such loss having resulted from an error, by a representative of the Department of Agriculture, in the measurement of the corn acreage which was allotted the said Paul Thury pursuant to the provisions of the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938, as amended: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 26, 1958.
