WEATHER BUREAU SALARIES AND EXPENSES
For an additional amount for "Salaries and expenses", $185,000: Provided, That appropriations granted under this head for the fiscal year 1961, shall be available for compensation to employees conducting meteorological investigations in the Arctic region and to employees of other agencies as authorized by the Act of March 28, 1960 33 USC 873.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA FEDERAL F U N D S TEDERAL CONTRIBUTION AND LOANS TO THE METROPOLITAN AREA SANITARY SEWAGE WORKS FUND
For payment of the Federal contribution to the Metropolitan area sanitary sewage works fund of the District of Columbia, $2,700,000, and for loans to be advanced and credited to sai(i fund upon request of the Commissioners, $22,500,000, both amounts to remain available until expended. For pay increases and related retirement cost for wage-scale employees, to be transferred by the Commissioners of the District of Columbia to the appropriations for the fiscal year 1961 from which said employees are properly payable, $600,000, of which $51,000 shall be payable from the highway fund, $89,000 from the water fund, and $57,400 from the sanitary sewage works fund. For an additional amount for "District debt service", for reimbursement to the United States of funds loaned in compliance with the Act of August 7, 1946 (60 Stat. 896), as amended, and the Act of July 2, 1954 (68 Stat. 443), $545,000.
