For necessary expenses for the promotion of foreign commerce, including trade centers, mobile trade fairs, and trade and industrial exhibits, abroad, without regard to the provisions of law set forth jn 41 U.S.C. 5 and 13; 44 U.S.C. I l l, 322, and 324; purchase of commercial and trade reports; employment of aliens by contract for services abroad; rental of space abroad, for periods not exceeding five years, and expenses of alteration, repair, or improvement; advance of funds under contracts abroad; payment of tort claims, in the manner authorized in the first paragraph of section 2672 of title 28 of the United States Code, when such claims arise in foreign countries; and not to exceed $8,000 for official representation expenses abroad; $11,250,000, of which $3,000,000 shall remain available for trade and industrial exhibits until June 30, 1968: Provided, That the provisions of the first sentence of section 105(f) and all of 108(c) of the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961 (Public Law 87-256) shall apply in carrying out the activities concerned with exhibits and missions. CONTROL

For expenses necessary for carrying out the provisions of the Export Control Act of 1949, as amended, relating to export controls, Including awards of compensation to informers under said Act and ^s authorlzcd b ^ the Act of August 13, 1953 (22 U.S.C. 401), $5,050,000, of which not to exceed $1,678,000 may be advanced to the Bureau of Customs, Treasury Department, for enforcement of the export control program. For expenses necessary to operate and maintain field offices for the collection and dissemination of information useful in the development and improvement of commerce throughout the United States and its possessions, $4,450,000.
