EXPENSES

For expenses, not otherwise provided for, necessary for the work of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, including advances or reimbursement to State, Federal, and local agencies and their employees for services rendered, $22,420,000, of which $600,000 shall be for expenses of revising the Consumer Price Index including salaries of temporary personnel assigned to this project without regard to competitive Civil Service requirements. For expenses necessary for the conduct of international labor affairs, $1,332,000. OFFICE OF THE SOLICITOR SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For expenses necessary for the Office of the Solicitor, $5,978,000, together with not to exceed $144,000 to be derived from the Employment Security Administration account, Unemployment Trust Fund. OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For expenses necessary to carry out the functions of the Department of Labor under Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965, as amended, and title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, $926,000, together with not to exceed $564,000 to be derived from the Employment Security Administration account. The Working Capital Fund of the Department of Labor shall hereafter be available for expenses necessary for personnel functions in regional administrative offices. GENERAL PROVISIONS

SEC. 101. Appropriations in this Act available for salaries and expenses shall be available for supplies, services, and rental of conference space within the District of Columbia, as the Secretary of Labor shall deem necessary for settlement of labor-management disputes. This title may be cited as ths "Department of Labor Appropriation Act, 1970".
