(g) Section 202(f) of the Social Security Act is amended by adding at the end thereof the following new paragraph: "(8) I n the case of an individual entitled to monthly insurance benefits payable under this section for any month prior to January 1973 whose benefits were not redetermined under section 102(g) of the Social Security Amendments of 1972, such benefits shall not be redetermined pursuant to such section, but shall be increased pursuant to any general benefit increase (as defined in section 215(i)(3) or any increase in benefits made under or pursuant to section 215(i), including for this purpose the increase provided effective for March 1974, as though such redetermination had been made." (h)(1) Section 215(a)(3) of the Social Security Act is amended by striking out "$8.50*- and inserting in lieu thereof "$9.00". (2) The amendment made by paragraph (1) shall be effective with respect to benefits payable for months after February 1974. (i) In tho case of an individual to whom monthly benefits are payable under title II of the Social Security Act for February 1974 (without the application of section 202(j)(1) or 223(b) of such Act), and to whom section 202(m) of such Act is applicable for such month, such section shall continue to be applicable to such benefits for the months of March through May 1974 for which such individual remains the only individual entitled to a monthly benefit on the basis of the wages and self-employment income of the deceased insured individual.
