Public Law 95-453 95th Congress An Act Oct. 12, 1978 [H.R. 9945]

Indian Claims Commission, activities of Commissioners.

To amend the Act creating the Indian Claims Commission to repeal the provision limiting the activities of Commissioners during the two years following ,their terms of office.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the first sentence of section 3(c) (25 U.S.C. 70b(c)) of the Act entitled "An Act to create an Indian Claims Commission, to provide for the powers, duties, and functions thereof, and for other purposes", approved August 13, 1946 (60 Stat. 1049; 25 U.S.C. 70 et seq.), is amended by striking out "or for a period of two years thereafter". Section 105(j) of the Indian Self-Determination Act (88 Stat. 2206, 2210) shall not apply to those members of the Indian Claims Commission affected by this Act. Approved October 12, 1978.
