Map and description, filing with congressional committees.

Administration.

To designate certain lands in the State of Wisconsin as wilderness. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United /States of America in Congress assembled, That in furtherance of the purposes of the Wilderness Act (78 Stat. 891), the following lands as generally depicted on maps appropriately referenced, dated March 1978, which is on file and available for public inspection in the office of the Chief, Forest Service, Department of Agriculture, are hereby designated as Wilderness and, therefore, as components of the National Wilderness Preservation System— (1) certain lands in the Nicolet National Forest, Wisconsin, which comprise approximately five thousand eight hundred and eight-six acres are generally depicted on a map entitled "Blackjack Springs Wilderness Area—Proposed"; and (2) certain lands in the Nicolet National Forest, Wisconsin, which comprise approximately seven thousand three hundred and fifteen acres and are generally depicted on a map entitled "Whisker Lake Wilderness Area—Proposed". SEC. 2. As soon as practicable after this Act takes effect, the Secretary of Agriculture shall file a map and a legal description of the Blackjack Springs Wilderness and Whisker Lake Wilderness with the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the House Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, and such map and description shall have the same force and effect as if included in this Act: Provided, however, That correction of clerical and typographical errors in such map and description may be made. SEC. 3. The Blackjack Springs Wilderness and Whisker Lake Wilderness shall be administered by the Secretary of Agriculture in accordance with the provisions of the Wilderness Act governing areas designated by that Act as Wilderness areas, except that any reference in such provisions to the effective date of the Wilderness Act shall be deemed to be a reference to the effective date of this Act.
