Public Law 96-27 96th Congress An Act To authorize additional appropriations for the Temporary Commission on Financial Oversight of the District of Columbia, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That section 5(a) ofD.C. the Act entitled "An Act to provide for an independent audit of the Temporary financial condition of the government of the District of Columbia", Commission on Financial approved September 4, 1976, is amended by inserting immediately Oversight of the before the last sentence thereof the following: "In addition to the District of amount authorized by the preceding sentence and for the purposes Columbia, set forth therein, there are authorized to be appropriated, for the additional appropriations. fiscal year ending September 30, 1979, the sum of $9,000,000, and for D.C. Code 47-101 the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980, the sum of $13,000,000, note. one-half of which sums shall be from funds in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated and one-half from funds in the Treasury to the credit of the District of Columbia.". SEC. 2. (a) The first section of the Act entitled "An Act to provide for an independent audit of the financial condition of the government of the District of Columbia", approved September 4, 1976 (D.C. Code, sec. 47-101 note), is amended by inserting "(a)" before "there is hereby". (b) Subsections (h), (i), and (j) of section 2 of such Act are amended D.C. Code 47-101 by striking out "Commission" each place it appears therein and note. inserting in lieu thereof "commission". Approved June 21, 1979.
