(a) CHANGE IN TITLE.—(1) Section 5501 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking out "Commodore" in clause (4) and inserting in lieu thereof "Rear admiral (lower half)". (2) Section 41 of title 14, United States Code, is amended by striking out "commodores" and inserting in lieu thereof "rear admirals (lower half)". (3) Section 24 of the Coast and Geodetic Survey Commissioned Officers' Act of 1948 (33 U.S.C. 853u) is amended by striking out "commodore" each place it appears and inserting in lieu thereof "rear admiral (lower half)".
