| "Meeting at Night" and "Parting at Morning" were published in Browning's 1845 Dramatic Romances and Lyrics as "Night and Morning", one poem in two parts. They were separated and given their present titles in 1849. |
Round the cape of a sudden came the sea,
And the sun looked over the mountain's rim:
And straight was a path of gold for him,
