| Poetical Sketches -- the first book of lyrics, prose and dramatic fragments -- was written by William Blake between 1769 and 1777. It was printed in 1783 (only 40 copies) with the support of his friends John Flaxman and the Reverend Anthony Stephen Matthew. |
