Proclamation
on Appointment of Prime Minister[1]
Bhumibol Adulyadej, R.
Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paraminthra Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej is graciously pleased to proclaim that:
Whereas the incumbent Council of Ministers must vacate office after the election of the Members of the House of Representatives held under the Constitution, and the President of the House of Representatives informed Our that this 5 August 2011, the House of Representatives, by the votes of more than one half of the total number of its existing Members, has resolved to appoint Yingluck Shinawatra Prime Minister;
And whereas We entertain an opinion that We have confidence in Yingluck Shinawatra to the extent that We may invest her with the prime ministership;
Now Know You that We, by virtue of section 171 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, do hereby appoint Yingluck Shinawatra Prime Minister to take charge of the public administration henceforth.
Issued this 5th Day of August, Buddhist Era 2554 (2011), being the 66th Year of Our Reign.
