1-10

	In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful.	Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
059:001	Glorifying God is everything in the heavens and the Earth, and He is the Noble, the Wise.	Sabbaha lillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee al-ardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
059:002	He is the One who drove out those who disbelieved among the people of the Scripture from their homes at the very first mobilization. You never thought that they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from God. But then God came to them from where they did not expect, and He cast terror into their hearts. They destroyed their homes with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So learn from this, O you who possess vision.	Huwa allathee akhraja allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabi min diyarihim li-awwali alhashri ma thanantum an yakhrujoo wathannoo annahum maniAAatuhum husoonuhum mina Allahi faatahumu Allahu min haythu lam yahtasiboo waqathafa fee quloobihimu alrruAAba yukhriboona buyootahum bi-aydeehim waaydee almu/mineena faiAAtabiroo ya olee al-absari
059:003	And had God not decreed to banish them, He would have punished them in this life. And in the Hereafter they will face the retribution of the Fire.	Walawla an kataba Allahu AAalayhimu aljalaa laAAaththabahum fee alddunya walahum fee al-akhirati AAathabu alnnari
059:004	This is because they challenged God and His messenger. And whosoever challenges God, then God is severe in punishment.	Thalika bi-annahum shaqqoo Allaha warasoolahu waman yushaqqi Allaha fa-inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi
059:005	Whether you cut down a tree or left it standing on its root, it was by God's leave. He will surely humiliate the wicked.	Ma qataAAtum min leenatin aw taraktumooha qa-imatan AAala osooliha fabi-ithni Allahi waliyukhziya alfasiqeena
059:006	And what God provided to His messenger, without you having to battle for it on horses or on foot, was because God sends His emissaries against whomever He wills. And God is capable of all things.	Wama afaa Allahu AAala rasoolihi minhum fama awjaftum AAalayhi min khaylin wala rikabin walakinna Allaha yusallitu rusulahu AAala man yashao waAllahu AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun
059:007	And whatever God provided to His messenger from the people of the townships, then it shall be to God and His messenger, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and the wayfarer. Thus, it will not remain monopolized by the rich among you. And you may take what the messenger gives you, but do not take what he withholds you from taking. And be aware of God, for God is mighty in retribution.	Ma afaa Allahu AAala rasoolihi min ahli alqura falillahi walilrrasooli walithee alqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeni waibni alssabeeli kay la yakoona doolatan bayna al-aghniya-i minkum wama atakumu alrrasoolu fakhuthoohu wama nahakum AAanhu faintahoo waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi
059:008	For the immigrants who are poor and were driven out of their homes and deprived of their properties, they sought God's grace and pleasure, and they supported God and His messenger. They are the truthful ones.	Lilfuqara-i almuhajireena allatheena okhrijoo min diyarihim waamwalihim yabtaghoona fadlan mina Allahi waridwanan wayansuroona Allaha warasoolahu ola-ika humu alssadiqoona
059:009	And those who provided them with shelter, and were believers before them; they love those who immigrated to them, and they find no hesitation in their hearts in helping them, and they readily give them priority over themselves, even when they themselves need what they give away. Indeed, those who overcome their desires are the successful ones.	Waallatheena tabawwaoo alddara waal-eemana min qablihim yuhibboona man hajara ilayhim wala yajidoona fee sudoorihim hajatan mimma ootoo wayu/thiroona AAala anfusihim walaw kana bihim khasasatun waman yooqa shuhha nafsihi faola-ika humu almuflihoona
059:010	And those who came after them saying: "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us to the faith, and do not place in our hearts any animosity towards those who believed. Our Lord, You are Compassionate, Merciful."	Waallatheena jaoo min baAAdihim yaqooloona rabbana ighfir lana wali-ikhwanina allatheena sabaqoona bial-eemani wala tajAAal fee quloobina ghillan lillatheena amanoo rabbana innaka raoofun raheemun

11-17

059:011	Have you noted those who are hypocrites, they say to their companions in disbelief among the people of the Scripture: "If you are driven out we will go out with you, and we will never obey anyone who opposes you. And if anyone fights you, we will support you." God bears witness that they are liars.	Alam tara ila allatheena nafaqoo yaqooloona li-ikhwanihimu allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabi la-in okhrijtum lanakhrujanna maAAakum wala nuteeAAu feekum ahadan abadan wa-in qootiltum lanansurannakum waAllahu yashhadu innahum lakathiboona
059:012	If they were driven out, they would not have gone out with them, and if anyone fought them, they would not have supported them. And even if they supported them, they would have turned around and fled. They could never win.	La-in okhrijoo la yakhrujoona maAAahum wala-in qootiloo la yansuroonahum wala-in nasaroohum layuwallunna al-adbara thumma la yunsaroona
059:013	Indeed, you strike more terror in their hearts than their fear of God. This is because they are people who do not comprehend.	Laantum ashaddu rahbatan fee sudoorihim mina Allahi thalika bi-annahum qawmun la yafqahoona
059:014	They will not fight you all unless they are in fortified towns, or from behind walls. Their might appears formidable among themselves. You would think that they are united, but their hearts are divided. This is because they are people who do not understand.	La yuqatiloonakum jameeAAan illa fee quran muhassanatin aw min wara-i judurin ba/suhum baynahum shadeedun tahsabuhum jameeAAan waquloobuhum shatta thalika bi-annahum qawmun la yaAAqiloona
059:015	Like the example of those who preceded them. They suffered the consequences of their decisions. They have incurred a painful retribution.	Kamathali allatheena min qablihim qareeban thaqoo wabala amrihim walahum AAathabun aleemun
059:016	Like the example of the devil, when he says to the human being: "Disbelieve," then as soon as he disbelieves, he says: "I disown you. I fear God, the Lord of the worlds."	Kamathali alshshaytani ith qala lil-insani okfur falamma kafara qala innee baree-on minka innee akhafu Allaha rabba alAAalameena
059:017	So the destiny for both of them is the Fire, abiding therein. And such is the recompense for the wicked.	Fakana AAaqibatahuma annahuma fee alnnari khalidayni feeha wathalika jazao alththalimeena

059:018	O you who believe, be aware of God, and let every soul examine what it has put forth for tomorrow. And be aware of God; God is fully aware of everything you do.	Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha waltanthur nafsun ma qaddamat lighadin waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha khabeerun bima taAAmaloona
059:019	And do not be like those who forgot God, so He made them forget themselves. These are the wicked.	Wala takoonoo kaallatheena nasoo Allaha faansahum anfusahum ola-ika humu alfasiqoona
059:020	Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of Paradise; the dwellers of Paradise are the winners.	La yastawee as-habu alnnari waas-habu aljannati as-habu aljannati humu alfa-izoona
059:021	Had We sent down this Quran to a mountain, you would have seen it trembling, crumbling, out of reverence for God. And such are the examples We cite for the people, that they may reflect.	Law anzalna hatha alqur-ana AAala jabalin laraaytahu khashiAAan mutasaddiAAan min khashyati Allahi watilka al-amthalu nadribuha lilnnasi laAAallahum yatafakkaroona
059:022	He is God; there is no other god beside Him. Knower of all secrets and declarations. He is the Almighty, the Merciful.	Huwa Allahu allathee la ilaha illa huwa AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati huwa alrrahmanu alrraheemu
059:023	He is God; there is no other god beside Him. The King, the Holy, the Peace, the Faithful, the Supreme, the Noble, the Powerful, the Dignified. God be glorified; far above what they set up.	Huwa Allahu allathee la ilaha illa huwa almaliku alquddoosu alssalamu almu/minu almuhayminu alAAazeezu aljabbaru almutakabbiru subhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoona
059:024	He is God; the Creator, the Initiator, the Designer. To Him belong the most beautiful names. Glorifying Him is everything in the heavens and the Earth. He is the Noble, the Wise.	Huwa Allahu alkhaliqu albari-o almusawwiru lahu al-asmao alhusna yusabbihu lahu ma fee alssamawati waal-ardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
