Rashōmon

A short story set beneath the Rashomon Gate. A discharged servant, contemplating thievery or starvation, encounters an old woman stealing the hair of a corpse for wigs. Her justification for her means of survival, that the dead woman sold snake flesh as fish, is given as a precedent when he steal her clothes.
