BE 2552 (2009)

Bhumibol Adulyadej, R.

Given under our Hand this 18th Day of December, BE 2552 (2009);

Being the 64th Year of our Reign.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is graciously pleased to proclaim that:

Whereas it is desirable to additionally establish an Amphoe in Changwat Chiang Mai, for the sake of the administration and public facility;

Be it decreed by the King's most Excellent Majesty, in virtue of section 187 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand and section 61, paragraph 2, of the National Government Organisation Act, BE 2534 (1991), as follows:

§ 1

This Royal Decree shall be cited as the "Royal Decree Establishing Amphoe Galyani Vadhana, Changwat Chiang Mai, BE 2552 (2009)".

§ 2

This Royal Decree shall come into force as from the day following the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.[1]

§ 3

Tambon Chaem Luang, Tambon Ban Chan and Tambon Mae Daet of Amphoe Mae Chaem, Changwat Chiang Mai, shall be separated from the said Amphoe to constitute Amphoe Galyani Vadhana.

§ 4

Amphoe Galyani Vadhana shall assume the existing administrative territory of the Tambons separated from its former Amphoe and shall have its Seat situated in Tambon Chaem Luang. Also, Amphoe Galyani Vadhana shall be subject to the administration of Changwat Chiang Mai.

§ 5

The Minister of Interior shall be in charge of this Royal Decree.

Countersigned by:
Abhisit Vejjajiva,
Prime Minister.

Statement of Grounds

The grounds for promulgation of this Royal Decree are as follows: Since Tambon Chaem Luang, Tambon Ban Chan and Tambon Mae Daet of Amphoe Mae Chaem, Changwat Chiang Mai, are of wide territory, densely populated communities and trade zones, and considerably growing development, but they are in remote area, the people thus incur inconvenience in respect of official transactions. It is expedient to separate the said Tambons from Amphoe Mae Chaem, Changwat Chiang Mai, to constitute Amphoe Galyani Vadhana, Changwat Chiang Mai, with a view to supporting the administration and the provision of public service and facility, to promoting the local development and to commemorating Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, the Princess of Narathiwat. It is therefore necessary to enact this Royal Decree.
