Tales and Stories of the Past with Morals: Tales of Mother Goose
by Charles Perrault
This famous collection of eight fairy tales was originally published in French under the title Histoires ou Contes du Temps passé: Les Contes de ma Mère l'Oye in 1697. All of these tales have since been re-written countless times including versions recorded by the Brother's Grimm. The tales of this edition were translated from the French by Charles Welsh and originally published in 1901. All illustrations are by Gustave Doré from the 1867 edition called Les Contes de Perrault.
