How does this page meet the WMF's requirements that works be free? I'm not suggesting that it doesn't; I assume that people more familiar than I with such things have already vetted it. I'm just looking for an explanation for my own edification. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 15:18, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- All pages on Wikisource should have a license tag at the bottom of the top-level page, or on individual pages if all subpages are not covered by the same license. 2004 Democratic National Convention does have a tag on it, but I am not confident that every burp and squiggle at the event would qualify as a federal work.
- Speeches given while he was a federal employee fall under {{PD-USGov}} however this speech was before that point. IIRC, User:Sherurcij has said that the Obama camp had given out a Creative Commons license for his speeches, but I might have that wrong. I have left him a note.
- If a page doesn't have an applicable license tag on it, discuss it with the depositor, or drag it to WS:COPYVIO where we centralise discussions like this. John Vandenberg (chat) 10:44, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
