Transcluding biographies[edit]

This has an element of complexity due to some of the smaller nature of some of the biographies and the number that can occur on a page, so in the process of making it easier for myself, I have a little routine that I have found helpful,

To make it a little easier to transclude the sections of the biographies, it is can be convenient to make the section names align with the bold text of the name. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:33, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

To transclude, the component after {{header}} is …
  • So, all one needs to enter is the TO and FROM page numbers

<div class="indented-page">
{{subst:#tag:pages||index="{{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}.djvu"|from=|to=
|fromsection="{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}"|tosection="{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}"}}

;Authorities
{{smallrefs}}
</div>{{DEFAULTSORT:{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}}}

Some works have additional sections in the addendum, so that becomes
  • respective TO and FROM pages for both sections
<div class="indented-page">
{{subst:#tag:pages||index="{{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}.djvu"|from=|to=
|fromsection="{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}"|tosection="{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}"}}

{{page break||top|label=Addendum}}

{{subst:#tag:pages||index="{{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}.djvu"|from=|to=
|fromsection="{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}"|tosection="{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}"}}

;Authorities
{{smallrefs}}
</div>{{DEFAULTSORT:{{subst:SUBPAGENAME}}}}

Note differences between Index and Body[edit]

The names in the index can differ, usually be abbreviation, in the Index pages (at the front) and to what appears in the body of the text, sometimes differ again in the addendum. Due to this, one can either edit the index to align with the body name, or to create a redirect from the line on the index page to where the page has been created. To do this, I find it often easiest to work forward the NEXT on an article. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:33, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
