Notes: Some of this document first appeared in Zoology and Botany of New Holland by James Edward Smith and George Shaw. Only two parts of this planned multi-part work were published, however, before Smith and Shaw ended their collaboration. Smith then republished his botanical contributions, plus a number of further contributions, in A Specimen of the Botany of New Holland, published in parts between 1793 and 1795. It was presented as Volume 1, but no further volumes were issued.
