Is there a reason that this page is essentially the Dryden translation as opposed to someone's more literal one? I know it's probably because the Dryden isn't copyrighted etc., but isn't it possible for users to collaborate on a literal prose translation? 67.163.123.239 00:18, 15 March 2006

I concur. This translation deviates much too far from the literal. I think that the users (such as AP Latin Vergil students) should collaborate and write a more literal, AP-acceptable translation. I don't think this one would suffice.

I am an AP Latin Literature (Catullus/Ovid) student and my classmates and I have found this Wikisource to be a great resource to check ourselves (and even, at times, to correct). I hope that other Latin students discover the wonderful resources available to them through this wiki.
