Adaption of an ancient text. Andries 09:56, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

In order for this to remain on Wikisource, we need to establish who is the copyright holder of this edition, and when it was first published. If it is an English translation of an ancient text, it is still copyright to the translator. If that is the case, and you can find the original text, we can do our own translation of it. John Vandenberg (chat) 10:52, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
I have no idea. Andries 11:05, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
This link says that it was translated from Hindi by w:Prem Rawat/Author:Prem Rawat, but I do not know whether that is true and do not how to find out if it is true. http://www.ex-premie.org/pages/arti.htm Andries 11:17, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
If he is the translator, he owns the copyright. As he is alive, he might be willing to explicitly donate it to the public domain. John Vandenberg (chat) 11:30, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
But your statement implies that the Free university of Amsterdam with Haan's article broke the copyright of Prem Rawat. It is possible but unlikely. Andries 11:37, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
They may have sought permission from Rawat, or they may have translated their edition from the original ancient text. John Vandenberg (chat) 13:46, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] From the main page

Just cleaning up, thought I'd move this here:

source: Haan, Wim (Dutch language) De missie van het Goddelijk licht van goeroe Maharaj Ji: een subjektieve duiding available online http://www.bezinningscentrum.nl/teksten/wim/divinelightmission.pdf from the series Religieuze bewegingen in Nederland: Feiten en Visies nr. 3, autumn 1981 edited by Dr. R. Bakker, Dr. C. J. G. van der Burg, (The article is mainly based on the Dutch branch of the Divine Light Mission) ISBN 90-242-2341-5, page 55

page 55 note 2

"Bij de Divine Light Mission is nauwelijks sprake van een filosofische achtergrond. De centrale 'geloofspunten zijn allen weergegeven in dit lied. Helaas is er geen Nederlandse tekst beschikbaar.

Hieronder volgt de Engelse tekst van dit dertien coupletten tellende 'loflied'” Literal English translation: “The Divine Light Mission hardly has a philosophical background. Its central creeds are listed in this song. Unfortunately no Dutch text is available.
Hereunder is the English text of this hymn that consists of thirteen stanzas.”
