public domain. the material has been written up by the family and copies were placed in the Univeristy of Dallas and other aviation archives. the material was designed to publicized Eddie after his death so that this minor figure in the early years of aviation would not be forgotten.unsigned comment by Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 02:43, 22 January 2005.

This is not enough to put the material in the public domain. Is there a reference which contains an explicit of the family's intent to put it in the public domain. Eclecticology 10:50, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I am the family. I decide whether it is public domain. The material was written for publicity purposes. unsigned comment by Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 20:21, 22 January 2005.

If you disagree with the wishes of the family, I will remove the material and find another forum willing to use the material. User:Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) 08:38, 23 January 2005

Moved from possible copyvios page[edit]

I'm not too sure what this is. I can't tell if it is an excerpt from a book of biographies or if it is someone's personal research. I am concerned about its copyright status though. The work covers someone from the years 1911 - 1940, meaning this work would have been published after 1940 (probably quite a few years after). As far as we know, the original author could still be alive. But I believe that this would be a copyright violation regardless, just because it covers up to the year 1940. • Agreed. Although there are circumstances whereby this could be in the public domain, it's up to the contributor to make his case. Eclecticology 01:21, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • Saved. Author has put this in public domain. Eclecticology 19:45, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)

spelling changes[edit]

I made the anon spelling changes. The writer was a family member who wrote the biography to accompany the donation of the family papers to an archive. The biography was never published. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 22:37, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
