Talk:Book of Common Prayer
From Wikisource
The full title of the BCP:
The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church according to the use of the Church of England together with the Psalter or Psalms of David pointed as they are to be sung or said in churches and the form and manner of making, ordaining, and consecrating of bishops, priests, and deacons
Just noted here becuase I remember seeing another long-winded title in the 1928 Deposited Book nd how they put great emphasis on the long title.

[edit] Copyvio?
If "This work is copyrighted in England under a perpetual copyright term", are we allowed to copy it here? --Angr/Talk 13:49, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- If it was printed in the US before 1923 that particular version should have entered the public domain.--BirgitteSB 14:34, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- That seems unlikely since it is specifically the Church of England prayer book under discussion. The ECUSA prayer book was apparently released directly into the public domain. --Angr/Talk 21:51, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The ECUSA Prayer Book is different
As an Episcopalian I know that the current Book of Common Prayer is different from that used by the Church of England. The current version was proposed in 1976 by the ECUSA's General Convention of that year and it's adoption was finalized 3 years later. If no one objects I would like to begin compiling the Book of Common Prayer as used by the ECUSA for Wikisource. --Avazina 16:27, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
