Composed characters[edit]

This chart seems to implement the difficult dot-macron characters using composed characters which my text editor seems to recognize but which the browser doesn't (for example ā and ā with a dot over it look identical). I think a single Latin character substitution would be preferable, perhaps ắ (a-breve with an acute accent) as a substitute for the dot-macron-a. Similar substitutions are available for the other dot-macronned vowels. A macronned vowel with an acute accent would be a good substitute across all the characters, but I can only find it for "e" and "o". Bob Burkhardt (talk) 16:36, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
