i saw the note about the translator and i dont really know much about wiki editing so i will just leave this note about where it is from. the same translation is found at http://www.constitution.org/mac/disclivy_.htm and is available to copy with attribution for noncommercial purposes

... or for any purposes. Per the note at that source: "This rendition of Machiavelli's Discourses is taken from a translation attributed to Henry Neville, first published in 1675, and reprinted in 1772." So it's a PD translation. —Quadell (talk / swapmeet) 23:34, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
