| Notes | When 24.117.13.58 this work, there was no source. newmanbe changed the work to match his source.
67.140.225.107 Changed "tonight" to "to-night" after checking with several sources. Leif902 Proof read, it was all correct, several sources list "Upon the straits; —on the French coast the" as "Upon the straits; on the French coast the" but I suppose your source didn't (saw several who listed it the way it was here as well). It is 100% correct otherwise. Can someone protect it? I removed the space before the emdash as it's proper grammar (and the editions I have also do not have the space).—Zhaladshar (Talk) 00:34, 21 August 2007 (UTC) |

The text of this poem has been corrected against "Matthew Arnold's Poems" ed. Kenneth Allott (pub. J. M. Dent & Sons Ltd., 1965).--Poetlister 21:09, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Spoken word
As one of Mattew Arnolds most influential poems I'd like to see this as a spoken work as well as text. Does anyone have a decent microphone and a good voice? I'd do it myself except that my microphone is currently out of order. Just a request, -Leif902 02:09, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- The good folk at librivox.org are leading the charge with spoken works. I suggest you request it there. John Vandenberg (chat) 03:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
